Finance Minister Purbaya Commits to Maintaining Fiscal Stability and National Priorities for 2027
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has affirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining fiscal stability for the 2027 budget year. This measure is taken to ensure full support for the implementation of various National Priorities amidst continuing global economic uncertainty. During a working meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday (15/6), Purbaya stated that the Ministry of Finance will continue to optimise the role of the State Budget as the primary instrument for driving economic growth. “The Ministry of Finance continues to maintain fiscal performance to drive higher economic growth through various strategic measures aimed at optimising revenue, quality spending, and innovative financing,” said Purbaya. Purbaya explained that the 2027 State Budget will be directed towards supporting inclusive and sustainable economic transformation. This commitment will be realised through five main Ministry of Finance programmes, ranging from fiscal policy and management of state revenue and expenditure to treasury and risk management. The Finance Minister outlined that domestic economic fundamentals up to mid-2026 demonstrate strong resilience. Despite a significant surge in state expenditure, Purbaya assured that the realised financing of Rp379.4 trillion was carried out prudently. The government is committed to controlling the deficit and debt ratio within safe, manageable limits. “The government continues to maintain the State Budget’s role as an important instrument to protect people’s purchasing power, maintain economic stability, and sustain growth momentum while prioritising fiscal sustainability,” he concluded.
