Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has officially appointed Robert Leonard Marbun as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance. Robert previously served as Special Staff for State Revenue Policy and Special Staff for Institutional Relations at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, before replacing Heru Pambudi.

“I, as the Finance Minister, hereby officially appoint you to your new position within the Ministry of Finance,” said Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance office in Central Jakarta on Friday, 27 March 2026.

In his speech, Purbaya expressed thanks to Heru for the foundation built during his tenure as Secretary General. He also stated that this foundation would serve as the initial stepping stone for Robert’s leadership going forward.

To Robert, Purbaya assessed that his experience is already sufficient, so he just needs to carry out the execution and orchestration functions. He also advised Robert to perform his new duties well, particularly in internal coordination within the Ministry of Finance as well as between ministries and institutions, including in supervision and institutional strengthening.

He also touched on this year’s economic growth target, which he promised to the public at nearly 6 percent. According to Purbaya, the available time is not much, so organisational restructuring needs to be done more neatly in order for its impact on the economy to be increasingly significant.
