JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has admitted that the Coretax tax administration system still faces various issues, from design to technical aspects that hinder taxpayers.

He even openly stated that one of the main problems with the system is errors in the initial planning stage.

“First, wrong design. Then I suspect that Coretax was made complicated and there might be room for business. We will fix it later,” Purbaya said at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

According to him, the service performance is suboptimal, especially when connected to third-party applications.

He explained that the use of intermediary services or integrators between Coretax and users actually makes the system slower.

“Why is it difficult to use? One of its weaknesses is in the application bridging service which is actually slower,” he said.

Purbaya stated that a special team has been assigned to improve the system, both technically and in terms of user experience.

However, he admitted that improvements cannot be done instantly, especially regarding the language and tax terminology in the system, which is considered difficult for users to understand.

“If the complaint is that it cannot be understood or the language is difficult to comprehend, that indeed cannot be fixed quickly, but we will continue to improve it,” he said.

Purbaya assured that the deadline for reporting the Annual Individual Income Tax Return (SPT PPh) for individual taxpayers (WP OP) has been extended until 30 April 2026.

For information, the deadline for reporting SPT for individual taxpayers is set only until 31 March 2026.

“Fixed (extended). Until the end of April, one-month extension,” he said at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

According to Purbaya, this extension considers the number of taxpayers who are still having difficulty accessing Coretax.
