Finance Minister Purbaya Addresses Investment and Operational Obstacles Facing Major Corporations
Jakarta — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa chaired a debottlenecking meeting to resolve investment and operational obstacles facing several major companies in Indonesia on Friday, 13 March 2026. During the meeting, Purbaya highlighted three main agenda items involving import licensing issues, product standards, and land management conflicts that had created tension during the discussion.
The first agenda item addressed obstacles faced by PT Samator Indo Gas Tbk (AGII) regarding licensing at the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag). Purbaya assured that this matter would be resolved within days.
“The issue was the SNI. Samator also has a minor licensing problem where goods have already arrived but the trade ministry licence has not yet been issued. However, this will be resolved shortly. I believe it will be finished before Monday. We will send a team to discuss matters with the Ministry of Trade,” Purbaya explained when met after the debottlenecking session on Friday, 13 March 2026.
“The service level agreement is not yet clear on how many days it takes them to obtain SNI certification. As we can see, it currently averages over a year. That really is too long. We will then ask the industrial ministry to explain each stage — how many days each takes — so that the players involved have clarity,” Purbaya added.
