Finance Minister, OJK, BI & Danantara Meet at Airlangga's Office, Here Are the Results! - CNBC Indonesia
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto held a meeting with several economic and financial authorities. The approximately one-hour meeting was attended by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) Commissioner Chair Friderica Widyasari Dewi, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM as well as Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani. Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM as well as Head of BPI Danantara, Rosan, stated that one of the main agendas discussed in the meeting was the plan to establish the Indonesia Financial Center, which will become one of the focuses of national financial sector development. He mentioned that the plan will be reported to President Prabowo Subianto today. “Mr Coordinating Minister (Airlangga), because we will be called by Mr President later, (the meeting just now) discussed the establishment of the Indonesia Financial Center, which we plan to look at the locations yesterday in Bali,” Rosan said when met after the meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/5/2026). Rosan explained that the discussions in the meeting covered various important aspects that must be prepared thoroughly, from regulations to incentives. “(Discussing) the location, and what things need to be done, both in terms of regulations, laws, incentives, and others. That’s roughly the discussion, what homework we must follow up, including from the OJK side,” he clarified. Regarding the form of incentives to be provided, Rosan said the government is still in the exploration stage and will compare with various global financial centres. “That’s why we just talked about it earlier. This is our first meeting. Later, we will also look at comparisons with financial centres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, and others,” he said. He also assured that the management of the Financial Centre will not directly be under Danantara, but a special authority will be formed. “Later, there will be its own authority body. In this case, we will be the initiators of the Financial Centre development itself,” he concluded. Outside of the IFC formation issue, Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Spokesperson Haryo Limanseto stated that the arrival of Purbaya to Perry at the Coordinating Minister for the Economy’s office was actually for a ‘brunch’ or breakfast-lunch to discuss the latest economic conditions. “Brunch, discussing the latest economic conditions,” Haryo said briefly to CNBC Indonesia.
