Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has expressed his condolences over the death of Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) officer Aditya Waskita Jauhari, who died whilst on duty in the waters of the Tanjung Buton industrial area, Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency, on Tuesday (7/7).

“I offer the highest respect for the service of the late Aditya Waskita Jauhari. May all his faults and sins be forgiven, his good deeds accepted, his grave made spacious, and may he be granted the best place by God Almighty,” Purbaya said in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

As a mark of respect for his service, the Ministry of Finance is awarding the Nagara Dana Ksatria Dharma honour. The ministry is also processing a posthumous promotion in accordance with the regulations applicable to state civil apparatus (ASN) who die in the line of state duty.

“To the bereaved family, we extend our respect, sympathy, and sincere prayers. May the family be granted strength, fortitude, and sincerity in facing this loss,” the Finance Minister said.

He added that this incident would serve as a reminder that behind the work of the Ministry of Finance lies the real dedication of employees across Indonesia. In carrying out their duties, employees are often confronted with weather constraints, distance, safety risks, difficult terrain, and even situations that are not always easy to predict.

“Many tasks are unseen by the public, many sacrifices are not always heard, but all of it means a great deal to this country. Stay strong, stay spirited, maintain safety, and carry out your duties to the best of your ability,” the Finance Minister concluded.
