Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has ensured that state financial management is being carried out nimbly to remain adaptive, responsive, and capable of adjusting to global dynamics. In this context, he emphasised the role of the Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) as the front line in maintaining state financial stability. “The role of the DJPb is not just recording figures, but transforming them into services, development, and tangible benefits for the community,” said Purbaya during the 2026 DJPb Organisational Structuring National Strategic Forum, quoted from a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday. The Finance Minister stated that the DJPb’s role also includes ensuring the liquidity of the banking system and supporting the sustainability of national development. He cited the example of how the transfer of funds from Bank Indonesia to commercial banks was able to restore financial system liquidity and encourage economic growth. The state treasurer also affirmed that the DJPb’s strategic experience in managing the state’s cash flow must continue to be recorded and turned into institutional knowledge to serve as a reference for facing future challenges. Furthermore, the Finance Minister stressed that the DJPb’s organisational structuring is not merely a relocation of structures, but an effort to increase efficiency, accelerate work processes, and clarify lines of responsibility. The DJPb is expected to continue developing an early warning system to monitor economic and financial conditions, enabling a rapid response to potential risks. The Finance Minister also reminded that fiscal policy must be implemented with full integrity and discipline, and must not ignore the rules. Innovation in state financial management must always be supported by strong knowledge, capability, and commitment. “The DJPb is expected to be increasingly ready to become a modern institution capable of answering the country’s needs, maintaining fiscal stability, and supporting development towards an Advanced Indonesia,” said the Finance Minister.
