Finance Minister emphasises Pancasila as the guiding principle for state financial management
For the Ministry of Finance, Pancasila must be present in every fiscal policy, service, supervision, and every rupiah of state funds that we manage.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has emphasised that the values of Pancasila serve as the guiding principles in performing the duties and responsibilities of managing state finances. The Finance Minister stated that Pancasila is not merely the foundation of the state, but must also serve as a guide for every state apparatus in their work and service to the public.
“For the Ministry of Finance, Pancultasila must be present in every fiscal policy, service, supervision, and every rupiah of state funds that we manage,” said Purbaya while leading the ceremony commemorating the Birth of Pancasila in 2026, as reported in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The State Treasurer noted that Pancasila values remain relevant in facing various global challenges, ranging from geopolitical uncertainty and economic pressure to technological disruption. In such situations, Pancasila acts as a moral anchor to ensure that national development and progress remain rooted in humanity, justice, unity, and a commitment to the people.
In the context of the State Budget (APBN), the Finance Minister underlined that the state treasury is not merely a fiscal instrument, but a mandate from the people that must be managed responsibly to achieve public welfare. Therefore, he stated, every policy must be implemented with principles of prudence, accountability, credibility, and a commitment to the community.
“The APBN is a mandate from the people,” the Finance Minister emphasised.
This year’s commemoration of the Birth of Pancasila at the Ministry of Finance carries the theme “Pancasila as the Unifier of the Nation, the Foundation of World Peace.” The theme serves as a reminder that Pancasila not only maintains Indonesia’s integrity amidst diversity but also offers noble values such as unity, humanity, deliberation, justice, and peace that are relevant to the world.
“This commemoration is not merely an annual ceremony, but a momentum to reaffirm that Pancasila is the foundation of the state, the moral source of government, and the guide for the service of the state apparatus,” he concluded.
