Finance Minister Appreciates DPD RI's Considerations for Strengthening 2027 State Budget Draft

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has expressed appreciation for the considerations provided by the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) regarding the Draft Law on the State Budget (RUU APBN) for the 2027 Fiscal Year.

The Finance Minister believes these considerations were presented at an opportune time, coinciding with the ongoing discussions of the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) between the Government and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI).

“These considerations from the DPD are provided at a very appropriate time, as we are currently scheduled to discuss the 2027 RAPBN with the DPR RI. These considerations serve as input that reflects the aspirations of the regions,” said Suahasil after attending the 2nd Extraordinary Plenary Session of the DPD RI for the 2026-2027 Session Period in Jakarta, Wednesday.

During the session, the DPD RI established its considerations for the 2027 RUU APBN as part of the execution of its constitutional functions.

These considerations were drafted by Committee IV of the DPD RI through discussions with ministries, agencies, local governments, and various stakeholders, as well as through the collection of feedback from the regions.

A number of key issues under consideration include regional transfers, infrastructure development, village funds, and regional fiscal capacity.

The State Treasurer noted that the involvement of the DPD RI in the 2027 RAPBN discussions is an important part of the constitutional process to enrich perspectives in the formulation of fiscal policy.

“On behalf of the Government, I would like to express my special thanks for being invited to this Plenary Session. This represents good governance, receiving considerations that reflect the perspectives of all regions,” said the Finance Minister.

The DPD RI’s considerations will subsequently be reviewed by the Government and will form part of the 2027 RAPBN discussions with the DPR RI, in accordance with the stages agreed upon by the DPR RI Budget Committee.

“The considerations presented will be input that we will pay very close attention to and will become part of our discussions with the DPR RI,” said Suahasil.
