Finally, All Priority Platforms Comply with Tunas Government Regulation
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Roblox gaming platform has completed the initial implementation of the Tunas Government Regulation (PP Tunas), which governs access restrictions for users under the age of 16.
Therefore, to date, there are eight platforms that have stated their commitment to comply with the regulation, namely Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Bigo Live, YouTube, TikTok, and Roblox.
“So, Roblox today closes the series of the first eight platforms that we announced at the beginning of March,” said Minister of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) Meutya Hafid, during a press conference at the Komdigi Office, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (30/4/2026).
Meutya stated that the regulation will apply to all digital platforms operating in Indonesia.
Komdigi is giving until June 2026 for all platforms to conduct self-assessments regarding the risk levels of their services.
The results of these assessments will then be verified by the government.
Platforms can classify themselves as low-risk or high-risk, but Komdigi will ensure the accuracy of these assessments.
Meutya explained that Indonesia’s regulatory approach uses a risk-based scheme (risk-based approach), differing from several other countries.
With this approach, not all platforms are prohibited for users under 16 years old.
The government remains open to the possibility of platforms that are safe for users aged 13 and below.
“That’s why there are two stages, 16 and 13. This is what we hope for by June, that platform friends will soon submit their self-assessments to Komdigi for us to verify,” she said.
