Final section of harbor toll road nears completion
JAKARTA (JP): The publicly listed toll road developer, PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada, will open the final section of its second toll road project in North Jakarta on May 30.
A director of the company, Teddy Kharsadi, said yesterday that construction of the section which connects Ancol Timur and Jembatan Tiga/Pluit in North Jakarta will be completed next month, nearly four months ahead of schedule.
The Ancol Timur-Jembatan Tiga/Pluit section is part of the Tanjung Priok-Jembatan Tiga leg.
The road between Tanjung Priok and Ancol has been open since October last year.
"The operation of this section will allow us to operate the whole of our outer ring road project which links Cawang, East Jakarta, Tanjung Priok and Pluit in North Jakarta," Teddy said.
He said that the total investment for the 6.4-kilometer Ancol- Pluit project is Rp 676 billion (US$293.9 million).
Daily traffic volume on the integrated outer ring road -- Cawang, Tanjung Priok, Pluit -- is expected to reach 300,000 vehicles, an increase of 25 percent from last year's figure of 260,000 vehicles.
Teddy also explained that construction of the first phase of the Manila Sky Way project will be launched tomorrow by Philippine President Fidel Ramos.
The $500-million Manila Sky Way project will be constructed by Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corporation, a joint venture between PT Citra Lamtorogung Persada (16 %), PT Citra Marga (19 %), PT Bhaskara Duniajaya (15 %), PT Matra Sara Asritama (5 %), American Insurance Group (15 %), Philippine National Construction Company (20 %) and Stradec Philippine & Metro Strategic Ifr. Holding. (10 %). (08)
