Final Hajj Flight Arrives in Indonesia, Minister Performs Sujud Syukur

Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf performed a sujud syukur (prostration of gratitude) while welcoming the arrival of the final batch of Hajj pilgrims at the Surabaya Debarkation point in the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory. This moment signified the completion of the repatriation process for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from the Holy Land for the year 2026. The final batch to arrive at the Surabaya Debarkation was Batch 116 from East Java. Nationally, the repatriation of Hajj pilgrims concluded with the arrival of Batch 43 from the Makassar Debarkation, which landed at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport. “We have just welcomed the arrival of the last batch, East Java 116, and Alhamdulillah, Ujung Pandang batch 43 has landed at Makassar’s Hasanuddin Airport. This means the repatriation of all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims has proceeded well and in accordance with our expectations,” Irfan told reporters at the Sukolilo Hajj Dormitory in Surabaya. Irfan revealed that during the 2026 Hajj operations, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah dispatched 527 batches carrying 202,636 regular Hajj pilgrims from 16 embarkation points across Indonesia. Additionally, 16,585 special Hajj pilgrims were dispatched through Special Hajj Organisers (PIHK), accompanied by 1,016 special Hajj officers. “The profile of our pilgrims includes 44,247 elderly pilgrims, 170,700 high-risk pilgrims—approximately 72 percent—and 370 pilgrims with special needs, as well as 275 wheelchair users,” he stated. All Hajj pilgrims were accommodated in 121 hotels in Madinah and 182 hotels in Makkah, and they received 127 meals each, with a total distribution of 24.18 million food boxes.
