Final Footage of Specialist Doctor Trainee Captured on CCTV Before Being Found Dead in Siak
A doctor participating in the Specialist Doctor Education Programme (PPDS), an anaesthesiology resident at Tengku Rafian Regional Hospital in Siak, Riau, was found dead. The last trace of the doctor, identified by the initials AKL (30), was recorded on the hospital’s CCTV. Following the discovery, the hospital conducted a search after the victim’s wife, also a doctor with the initials YM (31), became concerned when she could not contact her husband on Monday afternoon, 13 July 2026. After searching among colleagues proved unsuccessful, YM and security personnel reviewed the hospital’s CCTV footage. Based on the recording from the radiology department, the victim was seen walking alone, exiting the hospital area through the gate in front of security post II towards the outside. On Tuesday, 14 July, three witnesses, consisting of two security guards and an ambulance driver, initiated a search around the hospital perimeter. At approximately 11:30 AM Western Indonesian Time, they decided to comb the bushland outside the hospital fence, which was the last point of the victim’s movement direction seen on CCTV. When one of the witnesses climbed the boundary fence to look outside, he discovered the victim lying lifeless on his back amidst the undergrowth. The body was found approximately five metres from the boundary fence and about 30 metres from the edge of Jalan Raja Kecik. The victim’s sling bag was found to his left. The hospital subsequently reported the discovery to the police, who then processed the crime scene. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of death and are awaiting autopsy results as the investigation continues.
