Final Arrival Phase Concludes as Indonesian Pilgrims Prepare for Peak Hajj Pilgrimage
The operational arrival phase of Indonesia’s second wave of regular hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia has officially concluded. The final contingent safely landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Friday, 22 May 2026.
Based on flight manifest data on the 16th day of this hajj operation, a total of 2,288 pilgrims from six flight groups originating from Surabaya (SUB) and Batam (BTH) embarkation points arrived in stages from early morning. The delegations were transported using Saudi Arabian Airlines.
Contingent SUB 116 from Surabaya was the final group to set foot on holy soil. After undergoing strict yet efficient immigration procedures and document checks, all pilgrims were immediately dispatched to their assigned accommodation in Mecca by bus.
The Head of Airport Operations (Daker), Abdul Basir, expressed his gratitude for the smooth completion of all arrival processes for Indonesian hajj pilgrims this year. He emphasised that this closing phase proceeded without significant obstacles.
“Alhamdulillah, all our pilgrims have landed in Saudi Arabia and the last to arrive was just now from contingent SUB 116. The total number of pilgrims was 379 and they just departed 3 minutes ago heading to Mecca. The closing phase, praise be to God, proceeded smoothly with no significant obstacles; all pilgrims are in good health with no one requiring medical care,” stated Abdul Basir.
During the final day’s arrival process, hajj personnel on the ground also provided extra attention and friendly assistance for elderly and disabled pilgrims who required special support.
All pilgrims who arrived today have been directed to various accommodation facilities in Mecca. The conclusion of this arrival phase indicates that all of Indonesia’s regular hajj pilgrims have now gathered in the holy land and are prepared for the peak pilgrimage phase: standing at Arafah.
