Filantra Secures UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status, Bolstering Indonesia's Global Contribution

Yayasan Filantra has officially obtained Special Consultative Status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The status was granted after ECOSOC adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) on 10 June 2026, and was formally announced via a letter from the UN NGO Branch dated 23 June 2026. Special Consultative Status is an international recognition given to civil society organisations that demonstrate competence and contribution in specific fields. With this status, Filantra can officially participate in various UN forums and mechanisms, particularly those under the auspices of ECOSOC. The status provides Filantra with the opportunity to attend official UN sessions, conferences, and events, submit written statements on issues within its competence, and contribute to discussions on sustainable development, social, economic, and humanitarian issues alongside stakeholders from various countries. Furthermore, Filantra can forge broader collaborations with UN bodies and other international organisations in support of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This achievement represents an important milestone for Filantra in expanding Indonesia’s contribution at the global level. The consultative status also reflects international recognition of Filantra’s organisational governance, professionalism, and commitment to advancing sustainable social development through a collaborative and impact-driven approach.
