A number of experts and public figures have delivered a special message to Generation Z, urging them not just to produce brilliant ideas on paper, but also to execute them into real and consistent solutions for rural communities. These views emerged from the panel of judges at the final of the Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 student social innovation programme, which specifically highlighted the importance of balancing intellectual intelligence with social empathy. Scientist and social entrepreneur Tri Mumpuni stressed that the key benchmark for a community empowerment innovation lies in the harmony between a solid idea and the ease of its execution in the field. The pioneer of independent electricity in dozens of remote Indonesian regions encouraged students and young people to be responsive and formulate ways to address social problems, turning them into tangible activities that are easy to implement, especially at the village level. “They deserve to be called a generation that possesses an adequate intellectual way of thinking and great empathy, and then creates real work if they can fulfil these conditions,” said Tri Mumpuni. Actor Nicholas Saputra placed greater emphasis on the adaptability of students. He believes that an attractive presentation of ideas must be proven through resilience in the field. Nicholas reminded that no matter how good a proposed programme plan is, its success will depend heavily on the younger generation’s ability to maintain consistency and adapt to the real conditions encountered in the target village. Meanwhile, Hera F. Haryn, EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility at BCA, stated that the critical thinking championed by today’s youth is always accompanied by social awareness and sensitivity. “We are truly amazed by the spirit and struggle shown by the finalists. This proves that the younger generation can not only think critically but also possesses a great sense of care and is ready to get involved and make a real impact. We hope this spirit will continue to grow and bring about sustainable change,” said Hera F. Haryn. During the event, four of the eight Genera-Z Berbakti 2026 finalists had the opportunity to implement their ideas in four tourist villages fostered by Bakti BCA. These villages are Desa Wisata Kreatif Terong in Belitung Regency, Desa Wisata Situs Gunung Padang in Cianjur Regency, Desa Wisata Patakbanteng in Wonosobo Regency, and Desa Wisata Kakaskasen Dua in Tomohon City.
