There have been numerous newspaper reports recently about the
cracking of gambling and prostitution dens in Jakarta. Dozens of
gamblers and prostitutes have been detained. But we never find
out what happened to them. If they were sent to court or not.

At the same time, we learn that these dens have begun
operating again without any sanctions from the authorities.

I urge the government to explain why. No explanation will lead
the public to think there is something wrong with the system.

Consistency in fighting these social illnesses is very
important. It will convince the public that the government is
sincere in its fight against these crimes.
