REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DEPOK – Fifty female entrepreneurs from the MSME sector, most of whom operate businesses in the food and beverage, fashion, services, and crafts industries, participated in a financial literacy training program.

The event, titled “Being Good at Sales Isn’t Enough, It’s Time to Manage Money Wisely,” was organised by Ruang Amal Indonesia in collaboration with IFG Life, Inhealth, and DPLK IFG Life at Semusim Cafe and Eatery, Depok.

The training, which took place on Wednesday (3 June 2026), aimed to improve the capacity of female MSME entrepreneurs in managing their business finances more effectively.

This includes financial record-keeping, cash flow management, emergency fund planning, and the use of digital financial services to support business development.

In his speech, Corporate Secretary of IFG Life, Gatot Haryadi, said that financial literacy is one of the important foundations for the sustainability of MSMEs and the resilience of family economies.

“Women have a strategic role in managing family finances while also running a business. Through this activity, we hope that MSME entrepreneurs can better understand the importance of healthy financial management so that the businesses they run can grow and provide greater benefits for their families and communities,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ruang Amal Indonesia emphasised that many MSMEs face challenges not in the quality of their products, but in the less-than-optimal management of their finances.

Therefore, improving financial literacy is an important step to encourage more resilient, independent, and sustainable MSMEs.

The CEO of Ruang Amal Indonesia, Slamet, said that women are an important figure in the economic resilience of families, especially if they are also MSME entrepreneurs.

“Financial literacy is an absolute necessity that must be understood by female MSME entrepreneurs so that financial management becomes more focused,” he said.

One of the training participants, Vini Islami, a culinary MSME entrepreneur in Depok, said that she has been running a business, but has experienced difficulties in managing finances because business funds are mixed with household finances.

According to her, this is common among MSME entrepreneurs. Therefore, after participating in this training, she is committed to managing finances more professionally, especially in managing profits so that her business can improve.

In addition to receiving material on financial literacy, participants also received information on retirement fund planning and emergency fund planning to support their economic sustainability.

Through this collaboration, Ruang Amal Indonesia, IFG Life, Inhealth, and DPLK IFG Life hope to continue supporting the empowerment of women through strengthening economic capacity and developing competitive MSMEs.
