FIFA gives thumbs-up to Koreans

SEOUL: Football's world governing body FIFA on Saturday gave
the South Korean organizers the thumbs-up after Friday's World
Cup opener between France and Senegal here.

"We are very satisfied the way everything went," said FIFA
spokesman Keith Cooper. "You could call it the perfect start to
the World Cup."

The only glitch was a large empty space of over 3,000 seats in
the stadium.

FIFA has started an inquiry into how it happened but it was
nothing to do with the organizers. --AFP
