FIFA chief visits Sri Lanka
COLOMBO (AP): The chief of the world's largest sports body,
FIFA, arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday for a two-day visit to help
develop soccer in this island nation.
Joseph Blatter was welcomed with banners and posters on the
streets of the capital Colombo, put up by the Football Federation
of Sri Lanka.
Blatter will lay the foundation stone of Sri Lanka's first
national soccer training center and declare open the new
administrative headquarters for the country's football
federation.
Both projects are financed by FIFA's GOAL financial assistance
programs.
