COLOMBO (AP): The chief of the world's largest sports body, FIFA, arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday for a two-day visit to help develop soccer in this island nation.
Joseph Blatter was welcomed with banners and posters on the streets of the capital Colombo, put up by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
Blatter will lay the foundation stone of Sri Lanka's first national soccer training center and declare open the new administrative headquarters for the country's football federation.
Both projects are financed by FIFA's GOAL financial assistance programs.
