Field Hospital in NTT Built in Just 30 Hours

The Head of the Composite EMT Team from the Ministry of Health’s Health Crisis Centre in Ruteng, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Franky Rumondor, stated that the field hospital established at Golo Dukal Stadium was built rapidly under challenging conditions.

“We built the field hospital in approximately nearly 30 hours during the early hours of the morning, in cold weather conditions, with 13 personnel who constructed this field hospital,” said Franky on Thursday (20/8).

A total of 13 personnel were directly involved in the construction process of the field hospital. They were deployed by the Ministry of Health’s Health Crisis Centre to strengthen healthcare services for communities affected by the earthquake in Manggarai Regency.

Franky expressed appreciation for the hard work of all personnel involved, which enabled the field hospital to be used immediately to support medical services for affected communities.

“Today we are grateful that the first operation has taken place at the field hospital located at Golo Dukal Stadium in Manggarai Regency. And these 13 people are remarkable individuals,” he said.

According to him, the construction of the field hospital is part of the Ministry of Health’s rapid response efforts to ensure that disaster-affected communities continue to have access to healthcare services, particularly when permanent health facilities experience disruption due to the earthquake.

“They are extraordinary people sent by the Ministry of Health’s Crisis Centre to help the community, our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster in Manggarai Regency,” Franky explained.

With the field hospital now operational, the Ministry of Health continues to strengthen healthcare support for earthquake-affected communities in Manggarai Regency. The facility is expected to support the continuity of health services, including the treatment of patients requiring medical procedures and operations during the post-disaster recovery process.
