Fictious projects in Bitung
BITUNG, North Sulawesi: The Association of All Indonesian Construction Businessmen (Gapensi) said on Monday it suspects that a number fictitious projects are taking place in Bitung district, which are valued at hundreds of millions of rupiah.
Anthonius Hen Supit, head of Bitung's Gapensi, said the suspicion is based on the findings by his members.
The fictitious projects, carried out by the local development planning agency (BPPD) and the public works office, include the development of a water pipe worth around Rp 600 million for the budget period of 2001, he said.
However, to this point no work had been done on the pipe, Anthonius said while the operators had already presented their accountability report.
He promised to take the findings to the Bitung mayor and the city's development supervisory body for investigation. --Antara
