FHI 2026 Officially Opens, Aiming to Boost Investment and National Hospitality Collaboration
The resilience of Indonesia’s domestic market is sending positive signals for the growth of the national food, beverage, and hospitality industries. Amid rising public consumption and the expansion of the hotel sector, the Food & Hospitality Indonesia (FHI) 2026 expo officially opened on Tuesday (21/7) at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Jakarta. Now in its 20th edition, FHI reinforces its position as a strategic Business-to-Business (B2B) platform connecting national industry players with the global market. The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy Yuke Sri Rahayu, Country General Manager of PT Pamerindo Indonesia Lia Indriasari, and FHI Portfolio Director Meysia Stephannie. Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasised that FHI 2026 is a crucial momentum to strengthen the link between the hospitality sector and tourism. She noted that gastronomy and service quality have become strategic assets in enhancing the Wonderful Indonesia image. “FHI plays an important role as a platform connecting local producers with international buyers, encouraging investment, and building partnerships to realise a more innovative and globally competitive Indonesian tourism ecosystem,” said Widiyanti. Echoing this sentiment, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya highlighted the vast potential of the domestic market. He stated that the hospitality and food and beverage industries play a vital role in driving innovation and creating added value for the national creative economy. This industrial growth is supported by solid macroeconomic data. FHI 2026 features over 500 companies from 32 countries, including participants from Australia, the United States, Italy, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates. The exhibition is held concurrently with Hotelex Indonesia, Fine Furniture & Deco Asia (FFDA), and PROPAK Indonesia to create a comprehensive industrial ecosystem. Meysia Stephannie, Portfolio Director of FHI 2026, explained that the event is not merely an exhibition space but an ecosystem that brings together innovation and investment. One of its flagship features is the FHI Business Matching Programme, which targets over 2,000 business meetings over the four-day event. Beyond business, FHI 2026 also hosts prestigious competitions and educational sessions aimed at improving the quality of human resources in the industry. The event also promotes sustainable business practices through initiatives such as the Better Stands Programme, food waste management with FoodCycle Farm, and the Beyond Coffee programme, which involves baristas with Down syndrome to encourage inclusivity in the hospitality industry. The exhibition runs until 24 July 2026. Industry players can access the venue with an on-site registration fee of IDR 250,000 for full four-day access at JIExpo Kemayoran.
