The 2026 Oil and Gas Production Facilities Forum (FFPM) concluded successfully after three days, running from 1–3 September 2026. Under the theme “Securing Energy Supply Across Production Facilities and Infrastructure”, FFPM 2026 served as a platform to bring together stakeholders from the oil and gas industry.

Through the forum, speakers discussed strengthening energy resilience via production facilities and supporting infrastructure. The final day’s agenda focused on consolidation, following two days of activities including the IAFMI Innovation Award, a Business Forum, and the closing ceremony.

The third day began with the IAFMI Innovation Award, featuring judges Harmadi from PT Pertamina EP Cepu, Pri Januar Gusmani from the Bandung Institute of Technology’s Chemical Engineering Department, and Rokhmatulloh from JOB Pertamina Medco E&P Sulawesi.

The Innovation Award is a recurring feature of FFPM since 2023, aimed at encouraging technical innovations and solutions to address industry challenges, while providing a platform for sharing knowledge and implementing technologies that support the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of oil and gas production facilities.

From dozens of scientific entries, five best works were selected as finalists to present their innovations. Following the presentation and judging process, three winners were selected for their highly relevant and applicable ideas for the industry. The first prize went to “Enhancing the Production Capacity of Pertamina Dex Through New Formulation and Modification of Product Facilities at Refinery Unit V Balikpapan”, followed by second place for “Enhancing the Quality of Low-Value Slop Into New Product Light Intermedia (LIT) As Feedstock For TPPI Tuban Refinery Through ‘Sensation’ Innovative Method At Pertamina Balongan Refinery”, and the favourite award went to “LIMITLESS: A Series Compressor Reconfiguration Strategy for Maximising Oil and Gas Recovery from Mature Offshore Field”.

The programme continued with a Business Forum titled “Strengthening the Oil and Gas Production Facilities Operations Goods Industry Ecosystem to Support National Energy Security”. The forum addressed the strengthening of the industrial goods ecosystem to support production facility operations and national energy security.

The Business Forum featured Hendra Gunawan, Director of Oil and Gas Programme Development at the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; Eko Agus Nugroho, Director of Metal Industry at the Directorate General of Metal, Machinery, Transport Equipment, and Electronics Industry; and Dino Andrian, Head of Supply Chain Management Division at SKK Migas.

Other speakers included Rudy Imran, Vice President of Supply Chain Management & Information Management Technology at INPEX Masela; Sandry Pasambuna, CEO of PT Sucofindo; Rudiyanto, Chairman of Guspenmigas; and Harry Warganegara, Executive Director of the Indonesian Iron & Steel Industry Association, with Batara Purba serving as moderator.

The Chairman of FFPM 2026, Irfan Eka Wardhana, stated that the forum was organised to address the need for stronger connectivity within the oil and gas industry. He noted that cross-sector synergy is vital for maintaining national energy security.

“The current dynamics of the oil and gas industry demand that we break down operational silos. FFPM 2026 was specifically designed to bridge upstream and downstream synergies to ensure national energy security,” said Irfan.

Furthermore, he noted that the discussions covered facility reliability, operational efficiency, supply chain integration, joint inventory management, and the optimisation of integrated storage infrastructure. The forum provided a space for regulators, operators, and service providers to formulate applicable technical solutions.

The Chairman of IAFMI, Luky A. Yusgiantoro, stated that since 2018, with the support of SKK Migas, FFPM has been a platform for industry practitioners, the government, and stakeholders to discuss national energy challenges.

“FFPM 2026 provides a platform to develop comprehensive strategies to face these challenges. The oil and gas industry faces the need to maintain ageing facilities to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The development of new infrastructure is also necessary to support the utilisation of energy reserves while considering budgets and project timelines,” said Luky.

The FFPM 2026 proceedings concluded after three days, with the forum aimed at strengthening stakeholder collaboration and encouraging the implementation of technical solutions and industrial ecosystem strengthening to support the reliability of oil and gas production facilities and infrastructure. These steps are expected to bolster the industry’s capacity to maintain a sustainable energy supply and support national energy security.
