BOGOR, West Java (JP): The Bogor Association of Street Singers
in cooperation with the local administration will organize a
competition for street singers.

To be staged in the town's information office's hall, the
competition, the first of its kind to be held in Indonesia, will
include 30 groups from various cities including Bogor, Jakarta,
Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Sukabumi and Cianjur.

The preliminary round of the competition will start tomorrow
at 10 a.m. The round will select 10 the best groups which will
advance to the finals on July 20.

Frans Rumbino, chairman of the organizing committee, told The
Jakarta Post that the competition is to be held to commemorate
the 514th anniversary of Bogor and World Environmental Day as a
well as a gathering for all street singers across Java. (21)
