Ferry Ticket Discounts of Up to Rp200,000 Available, Check the Promotion Dates
The government is providing an incentive for ferry tickets from 20 June to 5 July 2026. As of 25 June 2026, a total of 418,600 passengers have benefited from the fare discount programme applicable on several main routes. This figure represents 34.69% of the 1.2 million beneficiary target set by the government for the programme’s duration. Consequently, the realisation of the subsidy budget has reached approximately Rp7 billion from a total allocation of Rp26 billion.
Entering the third week of the programme, the opportunity to obtain benefits remains wide open as the quota is still available. The public planning inter-island travel is encouraged to purchase tickets promptly to secure desired departure schedules while enjoying more affordable crossing fares.
This stimulus programme provides a 100% discount on port service fees, which on average equates to a reduction of approximately 21.9% of the total crossing ticket price. The incentive applies to 14 ports serving seven national strategic routes, including Merak-Bakauheni, Ketapang-Gilimanuk, Lembar-Padangbai, Kayangan-Poto Tano, Tanjung Uban-Telaga Punggur, Ajibata-Ambarita, and Sape-Labuan Bajo. The programme is valid for foot passengers as well as Group II and Group IVA vehicles.
On the Merak-Bakauheni route, the busiest crossing in Indonesia, the discount applies to both regular and express services. For regular services, the foot passenger fare becomes approximately Rp18,100, Group II vehicles Rp46,400, and Group IVA vehicles around Rp431,200. On the express service, the foot passenger fare is approximately Rp44,000, Group II vehicles Rp83,616, and Group IVA vehicles around Rp550,937, down from the normal price of Rp749,128, representing a discount of up to Rp200,000.
