Ferry Passengers Rise 6.6%, ASDP Strengthens Services
JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) continues to strengthen the transformation of national ferry services through strategic collaboration with the government. This commitment was affirmed during an audience between ASDP’s board of directors and the Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, in Jakarta. The meeting discussed strengthening operational services, infrastructure readiness, and optimising national logistics connectivity. “The management of vehicle and passenger flows that is increasingly organised, strengthened cross-stakeholder coordination, and service optimisation are deemed successful in maintaining the smooth mobility of the public during the Eid exodus and return periods,” he stated. Throughout the Eid H-8 to H+8 period until 06.00 WIB, the total number of passengers on 15 monitored national routes reached 4.72 million people, an increase of 6.6 per cent compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, the number of crossing vehicles was recorded at 1.21 million units, up 8 per cent from the same period last year. Nevertheless, the government is also reviewing the need to strengthen services on several other strategic routes, such as Ketapang-Gilimanuk, which still face challenges of logistics density and road access conditions. To that end, the Ministry of Transportation together with ASDP will continue to strengthen anticipatory measures through the optimisation of ship operation patterns, utilisation of supporting ports, and development of more adaptive service schemes. The President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero), Heru Widodo, stated that the government’s appreciation serves as motivation for the company to continuously improve services sustainably. According to him, the operational pattern successfully implemented on the Merak-Bakauheni route will serve as a reference for strengthening services on other strategic routes. Thus, it is hoped that a more effective, efficient, and integrated operational system will be created. In addition to discussing passenger services, the audience also highlighted the strengthening of national logistics connectivity through the development of long-distance ferry (LDF) services. Meanwhile, ASDP’s Corporate Secretary, Windy Andale, stated that the service transformation carried out by ASDP not only focuses on operational smoothness but also on building a more modern ferry transport system based on user needs. “ASDP continues to strengthen the digitalisation of services, vehicle flow management, and overall operational readiness so that the public obtains a safe, comfortable, and increasingly seamless travel experience,” Windy said. Moving forward, ASDP together with the Ministry of Transportation is committed to continuously strengthening national ferry services as the backbone of inter-regional connectivity and national logistics distribution.
