Ferry Crossing from Ketapang to Gilimanuk Temporarily Closed for Nyepi, Check the Schedule

The ferry service across Ketapang (Banyuwangi)-Gilimanuk (Bali) has been officially suspended temporarily. This measure serves as a form of respect for Nyepi Day on Bali island.

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Ketapang Branch, Banyuwangi, East Java, closed the port entrance at exactly 5:00 PM WIB on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.

“Exactly at 5:00 PM WIB today, the crossing from Ketapang Port to Gilimanuk Port is temporarily closed starting today, and will reopen on Friday, 20 March 2026, at 5:00 AM WIB,” said Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Aan Suhanan at Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, from Gilimanuk Port (Bali), crossing activities will be temporarily halted starting on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at 5:00 AM WITA and will reopen on Friday, 20 March, at 6:00 AM WITA. This operational adjustment, he continued, is part of national transport arrangements to maintain order and respect the implementation of Catur Brata Penyepian on Bali island.

“The temporary closure of the crossing from Ketapang to Gilimanuk, including ticket sales this afternoon, is to accelerate the distribution of vehicle transport to Gilimanuk,” said Aan Suhanan.

Currently, the four main parking areas at Ketapang Port are becoming deserted after ASDP announced the temporary closure of the crossing between Java island and Bali island to honour the Nyepi Day celebration in Bali.
