Jakarta (VIVA) – Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang, also known as Ferry Boboho, has received protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). This prompted former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah’s legal team to lodge an objection.

“In essence, Your Honour, we wish to state that we object to witness Ferry Yanto Hongkiriwang because, in our view, he is not eligible for protection,” Febrie’s lawyer said after presiding judge Akhmad Fijiarsyah Joko Sutrisno read out an interlocutory ruling in the case alleging extortion and money laundering on Monday (26 October 2026).

Febrie’s lawyers argued that Ferry did not meet the requirements for witness protection set out in Article 49(2) of Law No. 3 of 2026 on the Protection of Witnesses and Victims.

“We wish to submit a letter of objection, which was actually addressed to the LPSK. However, we are submitting it to the panel of judges for information only, so that it can be noted in the proceedings of this case,” the lawyer explained.

In response, Judge Akhmad said the letter was addressed to the panel and would be seen only by the judges, not passed on to the public prosecutor. He added that the defendant’s lawyer had briefly explained its contents.

The panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court also ordered the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutors to proceed with the case alleging extortion and money laundering against former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah.

This was one of three points in the interlocutory ruling on Febrie’s preliminary objection, read out by presiding judge Akhmad Fijiarsyah Joko Sutrisno at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday (26 October 2026).

“The public prosecutor is ordered to continue examining case No. 78/Pid.Sus-TPK/2026/PN.Jkt.Pst against the defendant, Febrie Adriansyah,” Akhmad said.

The judges also ruled that Febrie’s challenge to the prosecutor’s indictment would be decided together with the final ruling in the case. Court costs were deferred until the final judgment.
