Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ferrari is reportedly considering reintroducing manual transmissions after nearly two decades.

According to Motor1’s report on Tuesday (26 May) local time, the Italian carmaker may launch a three-pedal version of the 12Cilindri in summer 2026.

This would mark Ferrari’s first manual production car in almost 20 years.

The Supercar Blog reports the manual 12Cilindri could arrive as early as July this year, making it the first V12 GT model with manual transmission since 2007.

Ferrari is likely to limit production to a few hundred units, targeting high-end customers.

Trademark filings suggest the model may be named 12Cilindri “MM”.

The car will feature a dual-clutch transmission and a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine producing 819 horsepower with three pedals. Specifications are expected to please automotive enthusiasts.

Interestingly, Ferrari is also developing a digital manual transmission, as revealed by recent trademark filings.

CarBuzz first reported that this system would use electronic clutch pedals designed to simulate traditional manual clutch sensations, including pressure and rebound.

The technology may be used in future high-performance electric vehicles such as the Luce.
