Ferdy Sambo's Letter to Tribrata Upon Police Officer Inauguration, Entrusts Message on Integrity and Honesty
Ferdy Sambo has once again drawn public attention after a letter addressed to his son, Tribrata Putra Sambo, was uploaded via an Instagram account managed by an administrator. The post coincided with Tribrata’s inauguration as a Second Police Inspector (Ipda), attracting the attention of many netizens.
In the letter, Sambo conveyed his congratulations and pride, whilst also entrusting a number of messages about the values he believes a police officer must uphold.
Tribrata Putra Sambo’s inauguration as a National Police officer marks a new chapter in his career. Through the letter, Ferdy Sambo emphasised that the newly received rank is not merely a symbol of position, but a trust to serve the nation and the state.
The messages conveyed were also filled with prayers and hopes that his son would be able to carry out his duties with full responsibility.
The letter opened with a greeting to Tribrata Putra Sambo, whom he addressed as “mas”, before continuing with congratulations on his inauguration as a Second Police Inspector. Ferdy Sambo affirmed that the moment carries a meaning beyond simply rising in status as a member of the National Police.
“Congratulations on your inauguration as a Second Police Inspector, mas. Today is not merely about receiving a rank, but about pledging yourself to serve the nation and the state,” he wrote, as quoted from Instagram on Wednesday, 22 July 2026.
Sambo expressed gratitude and pride because his son chose a path that, in his view, continues the family’s aspirations. He described service as a police officer as a noble calling.
“Papa is grateful and very proud to see you taking a step that continues papa’s and the family’s aspirations through this noble path of service.”
Beyond expressing pride, Ferdy Sambo also entrusted a message urging Tribrata always to hold firm to principles and integrity whilst carrying out his duties as a law enforcement officer. According to him, an officer must be honest, humble, brave in upholding the truth, and sincere in protecting and serving the public.
“Be an officer who is strong in principle, honest in every action, humble in success, brave in upholding the truth, and sincere in protecting, sheltering and serving the community.”
He then placed particular emphasis on the importance of maintaining integrity. In the letter, Sambo reminded his son that an officer’s honour must never be sacrificed for any interest whatsoever.
