A female student at the Sultan Syarif Kasim State Islamic University (Suska) in Riau, named Faradilla Ayu Pramesti (23), was attacked by a man while waiting for her final exam. The victim was even held hostage by the perpetrator while covered in blood.

From a video received by detikSumut, the perpetrator is seen holding the victim hostage, who is covered in blood. Students nearby did not dare to approach because the perpetrator was holding a sharp weapon.

Another video shows the perpetrator being secured by security officers after a few moments. However, the victim was already covered in blood.

One of the lecturers at UIN Suska Riau, Rony Riansyah, revealed that the victim was attacked around 08:00 WIB at the Faculty of Sharia and Law building.

“The incident occurred when the victim was about to take her final exam around 08:00 WIB. As the victim was preparing, the perpetrator immediately attacked her with a machete and held her captive, so the victim’s hands were injured,” said Rony Riansyah, Thursday (February 25, 2026), quoted from detikSumut.

Rony suspects that the perpetrator had planned the attack. The perpetrator immediately aimed his weapon at Faradilla, who was waiting for her final exam schedule.

“So when they met, it seemed to be planned because when they met, he already had a machete. The perpetrator was secured by security officers and handed over to the police,” said Roni.

Perpetrator Heartbroken After Rejection

The perpetrator was identified as Raihan Mutazzar (21). The police also revealed that the attack was motivated by unrequited love.

“The victim and the perpetrator know each other. So the perpetrator intentionally planned to harm the victim,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pekanbaru Police, AKP Anggi Rian.

Anggi explained that Raihan had intended to leave his house and go to campus to meet the victim. When they met, the perpetrator immediately attacked her.

In his actions, the perpetrator even targeted to end the victim’s life. Fortunately, the victim was quickly rescued and the perpetrator was arrested.

Anggi continued, based on the examination at the Bina Widya Police Station, Raihan was upset because his love was rejected by the victim.

“The motive is that the victim rejected him. So the perpetrator intentionally came from home to target the victim, that’s why he brought a machete. But he only used the machete,” said Anggi Rian.

As a result of the attack, the victim suffered injuries to her head and hands, which caused her to be covered in blood when she was evacuated by campus security officers.

The police also plan to conduct a urine test on the perpetrator. Including taking the perpetrator to a psychiatrist at a mental hospital.

“Currently, we are conducting an examination. However, we also plan to take him to a psychiatrist and conduct a urine test to ensure the perpetrator’s mental state,” he said.
