Female Student at Sleman Islamic Boarding School Allegedly Raped by Administrator, Resulting in Pregnancy
A female student at an Islamic boarding school (ponpes) in the Sleman Regency, DIY, has allegedly been raped and is now pregnant. The suspect is identified as GN, an administrator at the boarding school where the victim had been serving. The case was reported to the Sleman Police on 7 September 2026.
The victim, aged 21, is a graduate of the boarding school, having studied there from junior high to senior high school. For the past two years, she has been serving at the institution without pay as part of her religious devotion.
Gusti Rian Saputra, the victim’s legal counsel, stated that the alleged rapes occurred twice, in December 2025 and January 2026. The victim is currently pregnant, with an expected due date in October. The first incident allegedly began when GN instructed the victim to come to his office under the pretext of needing assistance due to illness. According to the victim, once she entered the room, GN locked the door and the assault took place.
Following the incidents, the victim reportedly experienced fear, confusion, and trauma, but was pressured by GN not to disclose the events to anyone. GN allegedly threatened that her family would be destroyed if the truth were revealed. The victim remained silent out of concern for her family’s well-being, but GN repeated the act in January 2026. The lawyer also raised concerns regarding potential attempts, such as proposals for an unregistered marriage (nikah siri), by certain parties to cover up the case.
Gusti presented an ultrasound (USG) scan as evidence of the pregnancy to the Sleman Police investigators. “Under the Sexual Violence Crimes Law (TPKS), the victim’s testimony is sufficient to serve as evidence for further investigation. Furthermore, the ultrasound is a clear clinical result that can be held accountable,” Gusti stated at the Sleman Police Headquarters on Thursday (10/9).
MM, the victim’s brother, mentioned that his sister’s psychological state is beginning to improve after the initial trauma that delayed the police report. MM, who resides in Ngawi, was one of the first family members informed of the pregnancy. He subsequently rescued his sister from a location in Magelang, where she had reportedly been moved by the boarding school authorities.
“She messaged me via WhatsApp, saying, ‘Brother, what if I am taken to Lampung? I will give birth there, and the baby will be adopted so that I can return home with a clean slate.’ I told her, ‘That cannot happen,’” said MM. He added that the suggestion to move to Lampung originated from the boarding school. He managed to intercept her in Geger, Magelang, before she could be moved.
The family, supported by their legal team, is urging the police to investigate the case professionally. They are seeking criminal prosecution for the suspect and protection for the victim. Meanwhile, Heri Purwanto, legal counsel for the boarding school, stated that they are preparing a statement to respond to the allegations. The Head of Public Relations for Sleman Police, Iptu Argo Anggoro, confirmed the report and stated that the police are proceeding with an investigation.
