Female Pilgrims Predominate: Musyrif Diny Urged to Prepare Physically and Knowledgeably Ahead of Hajj Peak
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MADINAH — The role of Musyrif Diny, representatives from women’s organisations, in supporting Hajj pilgrims is being strengthened. Ahead of the peak phase of the Hajj pilgrimage in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna), Musyrif Diny will intensify their support.
Musyrif Diny from PP Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama, Lilik Nur Kholidah Badrus Sholeh, stated that the support is focused on increasing understanding of the rituals and ensuring the readiness of female pilgrims, who make up the majority.
“On behalf of PP Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama, we have been assigned to be Musyrif Diny for the 2026 Hajj,” she said.
She explained that around 56 percent of Hajj pilgrims are women, so they need support, especially regarding the procedures for the rituals and their physical and mental readiness during the Hajj.
The support is provided through direct education in hotels and accommodation sectors, so that pilgrims understand the pillars, obligations, and technical aspects of performing the rituals according to Sharia. “We provide socialisation and education in every hotel and sector so that pilgrims understand what is needed in carrying out the Hajj according to the rules,” said Lilik.
Meanwhile, another Musyrif Diny, Rohimi Zam Zam, emphasised the importance of maintaining physical condition ahead of Armuzna, which is the most crucial phase of the Hajj pilgrimage.
According to her, physical strength is a major factor so that pilgrims can carry out all the rituals optimally, including during the Wuquf in Arafah.
“Take care of our physical condition until the peak in Wuquf. This is important so that all the rituals can be carried out well,” she said.
