Female motorcyclist dies after being dragged by pickup truck in Kalideres, West Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A female motorcyclist identified by initials ID (57) died after being dragged by an open-back truck (pickup) on Jalan Kamal Raya, Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Friday afternoon around 16:30 WIB.

Head of the Law Enforcement Unit (Kanit Gakkum) of the West Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate, AKP Joko Siswanto, said the victim died at the scene from serious head injuries.

‘She died at the scene (TKP) with head injuries,’ Joko told ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.

Initially, Joko said, the pickup with police plate B-9162-JZB was driven by a man named Slamet Riyadi, travelling on Jalan Kamal Raya from south to north.

‘When he reached near Gudang Besi No. 11C Kalideres, Jakarta Barat, as he turned to the right, the vehicle struck the motorcycle with police plate B-5079-BEK driven by the victim,’ Joko said.

The vehicle then continued moving and dragged the victim and her motorcycle under the vehicle.

The victim died at the scene with severe head injuries. ‘The victim died at the scene with head injuries. The body was then taken to RSUD Kabupaten Tangerang,’ Joko said.
