Female Hajj Pilgrims in Higher Numbers, Amirul Hajj Proposes Additional Toilets in Armuzna
The Secretary of Amirul Hajj, who is also the Rector of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Islamic State University (UIN) Malang, Ilfi Nur Diana, stated that the services provided to Indonesian Hajj pilgrims, particularly women, are excellent. “They feel very well-served, almost as if they were not on a regular Hajj pilgrimage,” Ilfi Nur Diana told the Hajj Media Centre at the Madinah Regional Working Office on Friday (5/6/2026).
Ilfi noted that although Indonesian pilgrims are well-served, there are several points of concern, specifically regarding the number of toilets required during the Armuzna period. “While in Armuzna, women feel that the queues for toilet facilities are too long. Therefore, our future improvement will involve negotiating with the Saudi government to ensure that the number of toilets for women is increased,” she said.
According to Ilfi, the primary reason for requesting additional toilets for female pilgrims during Armuzna is that the number of female pilgrims exceeds that of their male counterparts.
