FedEx resumes RI flights
SINGAPORE (Reuters): Federal Express Corp (FedEx) has resumed
its scheduled flights to and from Jakarta, with five times weekly
service, the company said in a statement late yesterday.
The U.S.-based transport company had evacuated staff from
Indonesia to Singapore when unrest hit the former last month, but
had continued to accept pick-ups and deliveries of packages and
documents for Indonesia on a partial basis.
"We remain optimistic about the Indonesian market in the long-
term, and we will continue to expand operations and services in
Indonesia on behalf of the many Indonesian importers and
exporters", the statement quoted David Cunningham, vice president
for FedEx's South Pacific region, as saying.
