FedEx ramp team gets award

JAKARTA (JP): The Federal Express (FedEx) ramp team in Indonesia has received the company's Circle of Excellence award for five consecutive quarters from September to November 1998 until the last quarter, according to FedEx.

"For any FedEx ramp team around the world, the quarterly award is a big achievement within the multinational company that is headquartered in Memphis, the United States," FedEx said in a statement on Wednesday.

The criteria for the award, among other things, is punctuality, quality of liaison jobs with FedEx headquarters and accuracy in ramp operation plans and customer/supplier alignment.

The FedEx Indonesia ramp team consists of two divisions, namely, operations and maintenance, which are responsible for overall FedEx activities at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

As part of FedEx's recognition of superior employee achievement, the company established the Circle of Excellence award, which is given to its best ramp team in the world. (udi)
