Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah has admitted that a house in the Sentul area of Bogor, West Java, containing 74 kg of gold belongs to him. This admission is now being scrutinised by the Metro Jaya Regional Police together with the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor).

The discovery of the safe containing 74 kg of gold and cash in rupiah, US dollars, and Singapore dollars worth approximately Rp 282.4 billion was revealed when the Police’s Kortastipidkor and Metro Jaya Regional Police conducted searches related to three corruption cases. The corruption cases under investigation are related to coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel.

Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stressed that the investigation into the alleged corruption cases of coal, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel is a priority for President Prabowo Subianto. Searches were conducted at Cafe de’Clan, a money changer, a house in Sentul, and a shop house in South Jakarta.

“This is a priority for the President, that alleged corruption cases are a concern for the police to carry out disclosure and investigation processes. This series of searches is part of the investigation process in seeking and collecting evidence to fulfil the investigation process,” Budi Hermanto said following a search at Cafe de’Clan, Cipete, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/7).

Budi stated the searches were part of uncovering alleged corruption in coal, which triggered a blackout in Sumatra some time ago, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel. The corruption cases under investigation include bribery, gratuities, and money laundering.

“Kortastipidkor together with the Metro Jaya Regional Police are investigating alleged corruption cases including bribery, gratuities, and money laundering. Several locations are currently being simultaneously searched, including the current location at Cafe de’Clan and Coin Money Changer. This is related to the alleged corruption in the PLN coal blackout, ASABRI, and Krakatau Steel,” he said.

During the search in Sentul, police found a safe containing 74 kg of gold and hundreds of billions of rupiah. The Head of the Police’s Kortastipidkor, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, said on Thursday (9/7) that the evidence was found in a locked safe stored inside seven suitcases. The foreign currency found was in US and Singapore dollar denominations.

“A locked safe was found, and after being opened it contained seven suitcases. The first contained 74 kg of gold bars, then 4,767,300 USD, then 14,083,800 SGD, and then 100 million rupiah. The total estimate in rupiah is Rp 476 billion,” Totok said at the Bogor Golf Hijau housing complex.

Febrie Adriansyah admitted that the house in the Sentul area searched by the police was his. Febrie said it was a private residence.

“Secondly, regarding the Sentul house, it is indeed the private house of the Jampidsus and has been for a long time. The ownership history from the beginning can be checked,” Febrie said during a press conference at the Bundar building, Attorney General’s Office, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

Febrie said the dozens of kilograms of gold bars and hundreds of billions of rupiah in cash have an owner. However, Febrie did not explicitly state who owns the gold bars and the hundreds of billions of rupiah.

“And regarding the money, as I explained earlier, what was found has an owner, there are activities, there are also people receiving activities, that can also be asked,” Febrie explained.

“Then there are several building activities that can all be checked; we are confident everything can be properly accounted for. But certainly not through a forum like this, but through a forum in accordance with legal procedures,” he added.

Besides discussing the house in Sentul, Febrie also denied ownership of the de’Clan Signature cafe in Cipete, South Jakarta. Febrie said he has no connection to the cafe.

“And once again I can explain that Jampidsus has no connection to the business that has been reported on social media, such as in Cipete,” Febrie added.

In a press conference on Friday night (10/7), police stated they were still investigating the ownership of the house after dozens of kilograms of gold bars and various foreign currencies were found.

“Investigators are still strengthening the findings regarding the ownership of the searched house. Indeed, the information circulating includes the press conference this morning, but investigators will conduct an in-depth investigation through PT Sentul City,” said Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, during a press conference at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta.

“They will also examine witnesses in the vicinity and will conduct an examination with the National Land Agency regarding the certificate of ownership and in whose name the freehold title is registered,” he added.

Budi mentioned that his party is still categorising the three cases. He assured that developments will continue to be conveyed to the public.

“The money found is still being investigated, and investigators are also still clustering the three case objects related to the evidence found,” he said.

“We ask for time from everyone, and we will provide updates in the near future,” he added.

Febrie Adriansyah has resigned from his position as Jampidsus at the Attorney General’s Office. Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has accepted Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation.

“Today, Saturday, 11 July 2026, the Attorney General has accepted the resignation of Mr Febrie Adriansyah from his position as Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes.
