Febrie resigns, Komjak says definitive Jampidsus needed immediately

The Indonesian Attorney General’s Commission (Komjak) has stated the need to immediately appoint a definitive Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) following the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah. Komjak Chairman Pujiyono Suwadi explained that while the appointment of Rudi Margono as Acting Jampidsus was appropriate for tactical needs, a definitive replacement is required for strategic purposes. “We have already collected at least 10 names,” he said. In selecting these names, Komjak prioritises criteria including administrative requirements, professionalism, and integrity. These names will subsequently be proposed to the Attorney General. Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin received Febrie Adriansyah’s resignation letter on Saturday (11/7). The resignation is also related to Febrie being named a suspect, along with another individual with the initials DR, in an alleged corruption and money laundering case currently being handled by National Police investigators. The Attorney General’s Office respects the decision and has assured that all duties, functions, and case handling within the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes will continue to operate normally according to prevailing mechanisms.
