Febrie Requests Sutrimo's Death Not Be Linked to AGO Case

Former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, has requested that the death of a man named Sutrimo not be linked to the case currently being handled by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO). Sutrimo had previously been referred to as Febrie’s head of household (Karumga). However, this was denied by Febrie, and Sutrimo was said to only have been tasked with guarding an empty house. Firman Wijaya, a member of Febrie’s legal team, stated that Sutrimo had long been ill and was undergoing treatment. For this reason, the public is asked not to speculate excessively and to await the results of the police investigation. “To the family’s knowledge, the deceased had been ill for a long time. When seeking treatment, he mentioned being sick for years,” Firman said in his statement on Wednesday (11/8). “The family hopes that this incident involving the deceased is not prematurely connected or linked to the case Mr FA is facing at the Prosecutor’s Office. So, let us all wait for the process being carried out by the National Police first,” he continued. Firman added that the legal team also invited all parties to respect the legal process, including the pretrial hearing, which is a fundamental right of all citizens in order to uphold just law. “Do not mix the incident involving the deceased with the ongoing legal process and do not use this event as a tool to delegitimise the pretrial that will soon proceed,” he said. Previously, former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah denied information stating that Sutrimo had the status of head of household. Firman said Sutrimo more often guarded an empty house and lived there. Sutrimo also frequently returned to his hometown or took other jobs, so he did not work continuously for Febrie. “So the deceased’s position was not as a head of household as widely reported, but more as a guard for the empty house, and he lived there,” Firman said in his statement. Meanwhile, Febrie Diansyah, who is also a legal representative for Febrie, stated that his client’s family conveyed their condolences while asking the public not to speculate and to wait for official information from the Regional Police regarding the incident. “We received a message from Mr FA and his family that the family is filled with sadness and deep sorrow upon learning of Mr Trimo’s passing several days ago. Information from the family is that the deceased had suffered from diabetes for a long time,” Febri said. “Mr FA and his family respect the investigation being conducted by the Regional Police. The family hopes that through this legal process, the facts regarding this incident will become clearer, thus preventing speculation or baseless assumptions,” he continued. Polda Metro Jaya carried out an exhumation process on Sutrimo’s body in Wlahar Village, Wangon District, Banyumas Regency on Wednesday. Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said the exhumation process began at around 09.30 WIB. He stated that the exhumation was carried out as part of the investigation process to obtain medical and scientific evidence to uncover the cause of the deceased’s death. “Today’s exhumation is part of the investigation process. This activity was carried out through collaboration between Polda Metro Jaya, Central Java Police, and Banyumas Police,” Budi said in his statement on Wednesday.
