Febrie Adriansyah Resigns, Rudi Margono Appointed Acting Jampidsus

Indonesian Attorney General ST Burhanuddin officially appointed Rudi Margono as the acting Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) on Saturday (11/7). The appointment fills the vacancy left after Febrie Adriansyah resigned from the post.

Rudi Margono, who currently serves as the Junior Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas), assumes the additional role based on Attorney General’s Order Number: PRINT-76/A/JA/07/2026. The Adhyaksa Corps described the move as a tactical step to ensure the continuity of the organisation and the execution of duties within the Directorate of Special Crimes until a definitive official is named.

Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, stressed that the leadership transition would not disrupt ongoing legal proceedings. He assured that the handling of corruption cases would continue to be carried out professionally and independently.

Febrie Adriansyah submitted his resignation letter, which was accepted by the Attorney General on the same day. The decision to step down came after his name was implicated in a corruption case currently being investigated by the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps and the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate.

Anang explained that Adriansyah’s resignation was a form of commitment to maintaining the integrity and neutrality of the legal process he is facing with the police. The Attorney General’s Office stated it respects the decision and has ensured that the prosecution of major corruption cases will continue as normal. The office also urged the public to respect the ongoing police investigation and to uphold the principle of presumption of innocence.
