Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian Prosecution Commission (Komjak) considers that a definitive Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) should be appointed soon following the resignation of Febrie Adriansyah.

Komjak RI Chairman Pujiyono Suwadi explained that the appointment of Rudi Margono as Acting (Plt) Jampidsus was appropriate to meet tactical needs.

However, for strategic needs, he believes a definitive Jampidsus should be appointed promptly to replace Febrie Adriansyah.

He said Komjak has compiled a list of names deemed worthy of becoming the next Jampidsus, although he did not disclose who they are.

“At the very least, we have gathered ten names,” said Pujiyono.

In selecting the candidates, he said Komjak prioritised several criteria, including meeting administrative requirements, professionalism and integrity.

The names will later be proposed by Komjak to the Attorney General.

Previously, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin received Febrie Adriansyah’s letter of resignation from his post as Jampidsus on Saturday, 11 July 2026.

Head of the Attorney General’s Office Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) Anang Supriatna said the decision was taken as a form of commitment to safeguarding the integrity, objectivity and neutrality of the law enforcement process.

According to Anang, Febrie’s resignation is also linked to a legal process currently being handled by National Police investigators.

“The Attorney General’s Office respects this decision and ensures that all duties, functions and case handling within the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes’ office continue to run normally in accordance with the applicable mechanism,” said Anang.

Febrie, along with one other person with the initials DR, has been named a suspect in an alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) case. (Ant)
