Febrie Adriansyah Not Wearing Detainee Vest, Here's KPK's Explanation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stressed that it will not give special treatment to Febrie Adriansyah, a suspect in alleged corruption and money laundering, while he is detained at the KPK’s Red and White Building State Detention Centre. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that Febrie Adriansyah wore a detainee vest during the registration process at the KPK detention centre. He also confirmed that Febrie has received family visits in accordance with the regulations applicable to all detainees. ‘Regarding the wearing of the detainee vest, this was done when FA registered at the KPK Detention Centre. Then, today FA has also received visits from family or relatives according to the detainee visit schedule at the KPK Detention Centre, including receiving food deliveries,’ Budi told reporters in Jakarta on Monday (27/7). Budi emphasised that all initial isolation procedures undergone by Febrie Adriansyah are mechanisms that apply to all detainees at the KPK. ‘This is to emphasise that there is no special treatment for detainee FA. This means it applies generally, including for other detainees,’ he said. He explained that, according to procedure, Febrie underwent a period of isolation before finally being scheduled to join other detainees today (27/7). Previously, the Attorney General’s Office’s Team Nine issued a new investigation order related to the alleged money laundering crime on 20 July 2026. The investigation order was issued after the Attorney General’s Office received the transfer of case files and evidence from the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps, including 74 kilogrammes of gold and foreign currency worth hundreds of billions of rupiah.
