- Interrogated by the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adrianspendyah faced 50 questions
The former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah, was interrogated with 50 questions by investigators from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) Team 9 during his examination as a suspect in an alleged money laundering case.
“Mr FA was very cooperative, answering all questions and explaining what the investigators asked. There were approximately 50 questions which Mr FA answered to the best of his ability,” said Febrie’s legal counsel, Febri Diansyah, in Jakarta on Thursday.
- Criminal Investigation Agency uncovers online gambling network with Rp1.03 trillion in transactions
The Cyber Crime Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has uncovered an online gambling network operating sites such as 1XBET, AJ8KEREN, and EMPIRE88, with transaction values reaching Rp1.03 trillion based on investigations into the gambling payment systems.
The Director of Cyber Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Pol Adex Yudiswan, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that this disclosure is part of the handling of three online gambling cases conducted over a three-month period.
- Jakarta High Court upholds 3-year prison sentence for Nicko Widjaja
The Jakarta High Court has upheld the sentence of 3 years in prison and a fine of Rp350 million (subsidised by 110 days in prison) for the former official of an investment company, Nickdo Widjaja, regarding a corruption case at PT Tani Group Indonesia (TaniHub).
Chief Judge Elyta Ras Ginting stated that the panel of judges at the first-instance court had provided sufficient considerations when passing the sentence on Nicko.
- Komnas HAM calls for forest fire management to protect rights of affected citizens
The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) has called on central and regional governments to strengthen the management of forest and land fires (karhutla) in Sumatra and Kalimantan by ensuring the protection and restoration of the rights of affected citizens.
Chairperson of Komnas HAM, Anis Hidayah, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that forest fires are not only related to forest and land damage but also impact the fulfilment of community rights to a clean and healthy environment, health, livelihood, education, food, and water.
- Minister of Forestry suspends permits for five companies in West Kalimantan regarding forest fires
Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni announced the suspension of business permits for five companies in West Kalimantan whose concession areas burned, as part of law enforcement regarding forest and land fires (karhutla).
“If there are indications of criminal activity, we will proceed with criminal charges. Therefore, this is not only an administrative sanction in the form of suspension and compulsion for environmental restoration, but it can also proceed to criminal prosecution,” said Raja Juli while inspecting forest fires in Rasau Jaya District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, on Thursday.
