Febrie Adriansyah Case Transferred to Attorney General's Office, Here's Why

Three corruption cases previously handled by the Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortas Tipikor) of the Indonesian National Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police have been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). The transfer was made as an effort to accelerate case resolution while strengthening synergy between law enforcement agencies. “This afternoon we will formally accept the handover of three cases, which today serves as a form of commitment to accelerate professionalism and synergy together,” said Acting Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Plt Jampidsus) Rudi Margono during a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office building on Saturday (11/7/2026). According to him, the public is paying close attention to the resolution of these cases. Therefore, accelerating the handling has become a primary focus. “The fact is, the public is waiting for the resolution of these cases, as conveyed by the Chairman of Commission III,” he said. “What is being synergised, the important thing is acceleration. First, to develop evidence, to maximise it. Then, the evidence items, and most importantly, synergy,” he continued. He stated that although the handling of the cases has been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office, coordination with the Police’s Kortas Tipikor will continue. “Today, even though it has been handed over to the Special Prosecutor, we will continue to coordinate and synergise with the Head of Kortas Tipikor and his staff to ensure certainty in its resolution,” he said. “Of course, we as investigators, as the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, will ensure the existing evidence, the evidence items, and the measure of causality with what is alleged. More importantly, we also continue to respect the principle of presumption of innocence,” he continued. On the same occasion, Head of Kortas Tipikor, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, said the transfer of the three cases was part of the synergy between the Police and the Attorney General’s Office in handling corruption crimes. “We must agree with the Attorney General’s Office that the Police’s handling, the investigation of three cases, has been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office in the context of synergy as conveyed earlier by the Acting Jampidsus,” he said. He stated that prior to the transfer, Police investigators had examined 15 witnesses and two experts. In addition, investigators had also conducted searches at several locations as part of the investigation process. “In the handling process carried out by the Police, we have examined 15 witnesses, then 2 experts, including conducting several searches at several locations which all of you have been monitoring and are aware of from the beginning,” he said. Metro Jaya Regional Police Head of Public Relations, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, reiterated that the handling of these three corruption cases was to follow up on directives from President Prabowo Subianto. The Police are committed to supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s national priorities in strengthening the eradication of corruption. “We are here to convey the investigation process of alleged criminal acts of corruption, bribery, gratification, and or money laundering,” said Budi. He stated that the handling of the case is in line with the seventh Asta Cita in the government’s agenda, namely strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reform, as well as strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption. “This corruption eradication is the attention of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the seventh priority programme of Asta Cita, namely strengthening political, legal, and bureaucratic reform, as well as strengthening the prevention and eradication of corruption,” he said. He said the Police are also part of the state apparatus that carries out national priorities. He stated that the case was handled through a joint investigation between the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipikor) of the Police Criminal Investigation Agency and a joint team from the Metro Jaya Regional Police.
