Former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah arrived at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) branch detention centre without wearing the pink vest characteristic of corruption detainees at the Attorney General’s Office. Based on reports from reporters in front of the KPK detention centre, Febrie Adriansyah arrived wearing batik at around 23.22 Western Indonesian Time. Febrie arrived in an Attorney General’s Office detention vehicle. Previously, the Attorney General’s Office’s Team Nine issued a new investigation warrant for an alleged money laundering offence. The warrant was issued on 20 July 2026. The Attorney General’s Office issued the warrant after receiving case files and evidence, including 74 kilogrammes of gold and foreign currency worth hundreds of billions of rupiah, from the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor). Subsequently, Team Nine summoned four witnesses on 22 July 2026. They were Febrie Adriansyah, advocate Don Ritto, NH, and TS. However, Febrie Adriansyah did not attend, citing health reasons, while NH failed to appear without providing any notice. Team Nine then scheduled an examination for Febrie Adriansyah as a witness in the alleged money laundering case on Friday. Febrie Adriansyah subsequently complied with the Team Nine summons, arriving at the Attorney General’s Office building at around 13.00 WIB. However, journalists at the Attorney General’s Office were unaware of Febrie Adriansyah’s arrival. At around 22.57 WIB, Febri Diansyah, acting as Febrie Adriansyah’s legal counsel, stated that the Attorney General’s Office had named his client a suspect and would detain him. On a separate occasion, after being examined by the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah claimed he felt he was being criminalised. ‘In my opinion, this is not sufficient to warrant detention,’ said Febrie.
