Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah has appointed lawyer Febri Diansyah as his legal counsel.

“I have just been appointed as legal counsel. So this is the first examination process I am assisting with. The power of attorney is dated yesterday,” Febri said at the Attorney General’s Office main building in Jakarta on Friday evening.

The appointment follows the resignation of Hotman Paris Hutapea from the position of Febrie Adriansyah’s legal counsel due to health reasons.

Febri, who is also a former spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), said that his client was asked 20 to 30 questions during the initial examination as a suspect in an alleged money laundering case (TPPU).

During the examination, he said, Febrie Adriansyah committed to explaining everything he knew as a form of cooperation and respect for the legal process.

“Mr FA has been cooperative, attended, and answered all questions, and has even undergone the detention process. We certainly hope that all parties can truly filter and oversee this process so that it proceeds correctly and according to the law,” he said.
