The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta has partnered with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to enhance higher education quality and produce high-calibre human resources.

The collaboration was highlighted during a recent Academic and Institutional Strengthening Consultation for FEB UIN Jakarta, attended by faculty leadership and prominent management expert Prof Amin Wibowo PhD, who serves as Board of Directors for UGM’s FEB MBA programme.

Prof Amin shared strategic insights on business school management, using UGM’s long-standing Master of Management (MM) programme as a benchmark.

UGM’s track record in nurturing high-calibre talent is evident since the MM programme’s inception in 1988, currently ranking first in Indonesia and 30th in Asia in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2026.

To achieve this prestigious status, he outlined seven key pillars of business school reputation, including operational autonomy, clear positioning, commitment to international accreditation, selective student intake, and a strong alumni ecosystem.

Regarding global education standards, he cautioned that accreditation should not be viewed merely as an administrative requirement to attract applicants.

‘Global accreditations such as AACSB are not merely decorative certificates or marketing tools. They are an operational discipline that compels institutions to continuously measure, evaluate, and improve their quality,’ said Prof Amin Wibowo.

Through this global affiliation governance learning, higher education institutions are expected to define their core differentiation and strengthen a robust curriculum ecosystem to tackle future digital disruption challenges.
