FBIM Cultural Carnival Presents Harmony, Captivates Residents
Palangka Raya (ANTARA) - The cultural carnival of the Isen Mulang Culture Festival (FBIM) 2026 in Central Kalimantan, which presents a harmonious blend of cultures, has captivated residents and tourists, said Central Kalimantan Governor Agustiar Sabran.
“The cultural carnival is always eagerly anticipated by the community; here, various cultures are displayed beautifully, blending together in harmony,” he said in Palangka Raya on Sunday.
He made these remarks after releasing the participants of the cultural carnival at Bundaran Besar in Palangka Raya. The streets were crowded with people eager to witness the event.
The FBIM 2026 cultural carnival for pedestrian participants started from Bundaran Besar, then proceeded along Jalan Imam Bonjol, Bundaran Kecil, Jalan Diponegoro, Jalan W Sudirohusodo, and finished at Sanaman Mantikei Stadium.
Participants with decorated vehicles followed a longer route: Bundaran Besar, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Bundaran Kecil, Jalan Diponegoro, Jalan Murjani, Jalan Ahmad Yani, and finished at Sanaman Mantikei Stadium.
The carnival featured creative costumes and decorated vehicles inspired by the art and culture of Central Kalimantan’s Dayak people and other regions, dazzling the thousands of spectators lining the route.
The beauty of traditional ornaments, distinctive ethnic patterns, and cultural performances showcased the richness of the region’s cultural heritage, which continues to be preserved amidst rapid development.
A variety of cultural attractions, colourful traditional costumes, traditional dances, and regional musical accompaniment created a vibrant atmosphere that reflected the wealth of art and culture in Central Kalimantan.
The enthusiasm of participants and spectators along the carnival route created a festive atmosphere while strengthening the spirit of preserving local culture as an identity and source of pride.
“Together, let us preserve our artistic and cultural heritage,” said Agustiar.
The participants in this cultural carnival came from various sectors, including community organizations, regional government agencies, schools, and vertical institutions.
